Three Hours of Power
The Times
The Mirror
Bias
Outline examples of bias in the two newspapers
In The Times, there is a quarter of the double page spread focusing on the arts (museums and galleries) as the broadsheets' buyers are quite wealthy, so the talk of the arts appeals to their expensive taste.
The Mirror is very biased by stating that Pele is the best footballer, comparing him to God.
How does the selection or omission of stories reflect the ideological perspective of the producer and why?
The ideology of The Times producers is shown through their view of touching the crowds to bring back the crowds in the arts industries, showing their personal views that the arts would be much more interesting and sell many more tickets if people were allowed to touch these artefacts rather than pay money to view them.
Specialise forms of production
Both newspapers are definitely a newspaper due to the topics covered as well as the paper they are printed on.
Horizontal integration
The Mirror is owned by Reach PLC
Issues with regulations
Newspapers break into the private life of people (particularly in the public eye), focus on their grief and cause offence.
